About Us

Meet the Team

Lorin Bowen (Pty) Ltd was recently founded by Lorin Bowen, who has twenty years’ experience in hospitality, conference and exhibition management.

Lorin is passionate about the business events industry and thrives on the process of planning and coordinating an event from the inception right to the conclusion.  Being a small business allows us to build relationships with our clients while providing the best personalised service.

Each event is unique and should be treated as such.  At Lorin Bowen we believe that by utilising available technologies and incorporating appropriate trends into our clients’ events ensures that all our events are successful, sustainable and exceed all expectations.

We not only organise conferences and exhibitions on behalf of our direct clients but are also available to assist other event organisers where needed with services such as exhibition management, onsite support and administration assistance.

Lorin Bowen

Lorin has a diploma in hospitality management, and a certificate in public relations.  Having started her journey at the Indaba Hotel and Conference Centre in Johannesburg as a trainee chef, Lorin quickly realised that she not only had a passion for cooking but also for conference organising and so moved into management.  Lorin held positions within the hotel as conference coordinator, sales executive and eventually marketing and public relations manager before she left the hotel in 2012.

Lorin joined the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry (SAACI) full time in 2012 as the General Manager, after previously holding the position of the national vice-chair for two years.

In 2014 Lorin joined the team at Scan On Show (now Synergy Business Events) as General Manager and was responsible for projects like Meetings Africa (2015 – 2017), The 2nd World Congress on Healthy Ageing (2015), Southern African Neurological Rehabilitation Association (SANRA) (2015) and South African International Renewable Energy Conference (SAIREC) (2015).

At the end of 2017, Lorin saw an opportunity to open on her own and so saw the start of Lorin Bowen Business Events.

Lorin is currently the SAACI Johannesburg Branch Chair, a position she has held since April 2017.
